Mean Finance Partners with API3 for First-Party Data Feed Solution

API3 welcomes Mean Finance to the API3 Ecosystem.

Mean Finance Partners with API3 for First-Party Data Feed Solution

Mean Finance is a DeFi protocol that aims to be the go-to platform for decentralized investment tools, fostering responsible and diversified exposure to the emerging crypto asset thesis. Mean incentivizes diversification and prudence, simplifying users’ investment journey into the future of finance. Their first flag-ship product is a capital efficient decentralised Dollar Cost Average (DCA) from one ERC-20 token to another. By leveraging API3 data feeds (dAPIs) Mean Finance will be able to expand their token selection while also ensuring secure, accurate, and sustainable sources of price data.

“By using API3’s first-party data feeds (starting on Polygon!) and leveraging our oracle infrastructure we will be able to increase the variety of tokens listed on our platform, opening new possibilities of long term investments for our users. All of these while having access to reliable, transparent, and cryptographically signed data, making dAPIs a perfect solution for our current use.

As a small team with a history of working to defend protocols against MEV, we are also really excited about the up-and-coming Oracle Extractable Value (OEV) solution proposed by API3, since it will allow us to receive some of the previously extracted value by searchers, but it will also align incentives for data-providers to keep oracle data more up-to-date.” — OxGed, Founder, Mean Finance

By utilizing API3’s first-party data feeds on Polygon, Mean Finance will gain access to reliable data with source transparency. The data feeds are delivered directly from the API providers and signed using cryptographic proof to ensure their authenticity without third-party intermediaries. These features make dAPIs an optimal choice for Mean Finance’s oracle solution.

With the implementation of dAPIs, Mean Finance is well-positioned to take advantage of Oracle Extractable Value (OEV). API3 is working to redesign the oracle update process to minimize the impact of MEV on protocol performance. By using dAPIs, Mean Finance will be positioned to capture OEV that would have been lost to MEV searchers. Mean Finance recognizes the benefit this will have on performance and user adoption and is joining the growing number of dApps moving to this new OEV paradigm.

“The flexibility of first party data feeds allows API3 to list hundreds of assets programmatically, which will help Mean Finance offer users a wider range of assets to dollar cost average into. API3 can see the huge benefits of Mean Finance’s service, particularly for new users, and can see this partnership growing the blockchain ecosystem through the improvement in user experience. Particularly important is that this can all be executed on-chain, without needing to rely on a centralized exchange to carry out the DCA, allowing users to remain in control of their funds.” — Dave Connor, BD Lead, API3

About Mean Finance

Mean Finance is a DCA protocol designed to protect users against market volatility. Purchases are executed regardless of the asset’s price and at regular time intervals. This strategy eliminates much of the detailed work of trying to time the market for asset purchases at the best prices.
